Deposit
How do I register?
You can register in person in the school’s office or online using our contact form. In both cases you will have to pay a refundable deposit of 50€ in advance. If you sign up for more than a month, the deposit will be refunded at the end of the course. If you register for less than a month, you won’t need to pay a deposit, but instead pay the full course fee upfront.
For registration you will have to provide a photocopy of your valid identity card or passport as well as a signed copy of the school’s terms and conditions.
How can I pay for the course?
Courses are paid for monthly by bank transfer, in cash or by direct debit if you can provide a Spanish IBAN.
If you take a course that lasts less than one month, it will need to be paid for in advance, before the course starts.
Do I have to do a level test?
We recommend you do our multiple-choice level test online, unless you are completely new to learning Spanish. After taking the online test, we will contact you within 24 hours to make an appointment for the speaking exam, which will be conducted via Skype or in person when you arrive in Valencia. After that, we will recommend the best level for you.
When does the course start?
Beginners can start their course any Monday of any month. Contact us to find out the exact day of the course.
If you have studied Spanish before, we will test your level and give you the different options we have. You will be able to start the course at the beginning of the week.
I need a student visa. What do I have to do?
If you need a student visa, you should first get information from your nearest Spanish embassy or consulate. Depending on your nationality, the requirements can differ.
If you need an enrolment certificate from our school, please contact us and we will inform you about what you need to provide. Generally, the documentation requirements for a student visa are:
- Photocopy of your valid passport.
- Signed copy of our terms and conditions.
- Indication of the exact start and end dates of the course.
- Advance payment of 100€ which will be deducted from the last monthly payment or from the total amount of the course payment.
Once we receive all the documentation, we will issue a copy of the certificate in PDF format to the email address you provide to us. If you need the original, we will send it to you by registered mail or by courier.
In this instance, the shipping costs shall be paid by the interested person. Please note that the issuance of the visa may take time, so we recommend that you start the process at least 3 months in advance.
The student is responsible for complying with the visa requirements. Academia La llibreta will not take responsibility in any instance that the visa is denied.
What if I want to cancel my registration? Do I get my money back?
We understand that sometimes unforeseen circumstances arise, so as long as you email us (in Spanish, English or French) at least 15 days before the start of the course, we will refund you the entire amount by bank transfer. If you have paid the deposit of 50€ by online payment, we will subtract the bank commission, which is approximately 2€.
However, the advance payment for the management of the student visa and the possible costs of sending it will not be refunded in case of cancellation.
No refund will be made if the course is cancelled fewer than 15 days before the start of the course.
What if I don’t get a visa?
La Llibreta will not be held responsible, so it is very important to ensure in advance that you meet the requirements. If your student visa has been rejected, inform us (at least 15 days before the start of the course) and you will be refunded the deposit.
The 100€ management of the registration certificate and the additional costs of issuing it will not be refunded.

Spanish Course
What is the methodology used in our course?
Classes are taught entirely in Spanish using a communicative approach. The main goal is for students to acquire communicative competence: to be able to write in Spanish in different types of register, to speak Spanish, and to understand written and spoken Spanish. In other words, to master all the Spanish language skills. For this reason, our classes are structured to achieve these goals while learning grammar, phonetics and vocabulary.
In our classes we encourage people to participate and stay motivated. Thanks to our pair and/or group interaction activities, students are able to be more fluent and correct when using their Spanish. Not only will you learn Spanish, you will also have an enriching experience, get to know our culture and make good friends. We want you to enjoy each class.
How many students are there per class?
Our classes have a minimum of 3 students and maximum of 10. There are normally 4-5 students per group.
How old are the students?

PCE course
What is the methodology used in our course?
Our goal is to make learning meaningful; we make sure that our students understand what they learn and are able to relate it to other topics.
The theory is explained in a simple way so that anyone can understand it. If we have advanced students in the group, we use different strategies so they don’t find it boring. In class you will do many exercises similar to those found in the exam you are studying for, so you will feel more confident on exam day. In the virtual classroom you will find a good set of standard questions and tests (with the answers) from previous years’ exams.
Moreover, we also do mock exams during the course.
Classes are entertaining. We use a variety of strategies to make them fun for you to learn and ensure you will not get bored in class.
We work both in groups and individually. Teachers spend time with each student.
In addition to the classroom you will have the support of the virtual classroom, where you will have all the subject material, as well as explanatory videos and exams with solutions from previous years. The topic and explanation of the classes are regularly posted in the class forum, in case you miss a day. There is also a forum for questions.
